Our Opening Night Party Pig Roast & Jam starts Wed, Sept 28th to kick off the 9th Annual MMC in style! Classes start Thursday, Sept 29th, and run through Sunday, Oct 2nd. There are 3 class periods a day on Th, Fri, Sat, and 1 class period of Sun. Classes are 1.25 hours each. Students self-select what class they will attend.
Class levels range from Novice/Beginner, Beg/Intermediate, Intermediate, Int/Advanced, Advanced, and ALL. (Please note that Fiddle and Banjo classes are geared towards Intermediate players and above.)
Classes are offered in mandolin, fiddle, banjo, guitar, upright bass, old-time mandolin, songwriting, and vocal harmony singing. Students are free to self-select any class they want (fiddle and banjo level requirements apply). Class schedule will have class descriptions as well as their levels listed clearly. We highly recommend students to attend classes by various instructors as each instructor approaches material differently.
Special Presentations are scheduled each day mid-afternoon and led by special guests and sometimes instructors.
On Thursday and Friday, campers have the opportunity to choose an one-on-one, knee to knee tutorial with an instructor of their choice (first come, first served). Sign-ups for tutorials begin Wednesday evening.
Individual recording and video-taping of each class is up to the discretion of the instructor. Please check with your instructor for their policy. (By signing up and attending MMC, each participant consents and gives permission for photographs and video clips taken by MMC staff during camp to be used without financial compensation, unless agreed to in writing.)
