The Monroe Mandolin Camp was a unique experience for three main reasons:

  1. The standard of instruction was very high and as a teacher myself I was impressed by the carefully structured learning sequence I encountered in my classes with Sharon Gilchrist which allowed me to grasp many concepts that had been confusing me for a long time.
  2. The unique “atmosphere” created by being surrounded by mandolin-nuts and full-on Monroe enthusiasts with their high end, beautiful instruments plus the presence of world class luthiers at the camp catered brilliantly to my passion for stringed instruments and mandolin.
  3. The organisation of the camp and the general levels of efficiency and effectiveness in terms of administration were beyond reproach

This was my third outing to such an event as this- and Monroe Mandolin Camp has definitely been the best. -Lloyd Wheeler, Auckland, New Zealand, September 22, 2017
